Sibelco are looking for a Health & Safety Officer for our Baskarp operation in Sweden.
This is an attractive role that could be well suited to a someone with technical background, knowledge of working with the MTO perspective and a Zero Harm approach to operational safety.

Responsibilities:
• Work effectively with the site manager and the Health and Safety Area Business Partner on the implementation of the Health & Safety program (site action plan) on a day-to day basis.
• Be present in the field to influence site personnel and support them in HS related questions and tasks.
• Support the execution of site risk assessments (risk register, site self-assessments, JSA, LMRA), guarding assessment and others to ensure that control measures are adequately in place
• Identify and report gaps for HS compliance to the area HS BP and site manager to include opex/capex to close these gaps (input to SSR Site Strategic Review Process)
• Ensure the completeness and regular monitoring of the effectiveness of risk controls and support the execution of actions to confirm compliance
• Support the sites in incident investigations and ensuring that they are well documented, investigated and recommendations provided
• Be an effective local trainer for HS program elements (BBS, ergonomy, campaign, ...) to employees in the site.
• Ensure completeness in meeting the local reporting obligation to authorities and the reporting of site KPI’s to the Sibelco group
• Ensure that local policies, procedures, guidelines in accordance with the Group's policies and local legislation are adhered to
• Support the onsite HS induction of contractors (e.g.pre-qualification), visitors and new employees
• Regularly monitors contractor safety, post work assessment of onsite performance of contractors
• Coordinates (in case of external provider) or is responsible for the collection of occupational health data (e.g. dust monitoring, noise maps, ...)
• Plans medical surveillance (possibly in collaboration with local HR) and reports occupational health cases to the CoE competence center Occupational Health

Skills and Experience requirements:
• Degree qualified professional in Occupational HS, IH or related discipline Fluent in English
• Around 3 years of relevant experience
• Project management skills
• Knowledgeable in local legislation relating to HS
• Experience in conducting H&S investigations
